Party Time Pink

Here is my daughter being totally goofy in the skirt and tank top that I made for her. Of course it is 30 degrees outside and she wants to wear it around the house where the rest of us are wearing sweats. I started out following patterns for each and then gave up as the patterns were for toddlers and as you can see my daughter is not a Toddler.
The skirt is a SC around with one increased row on row 2. There are two ruffles at the bottom.

The Tank top is a DC with an expanding row on row 4. Then I added the strap and looped it into the top DC.

My first attempt at a blanket and its a Pillowghan.

Its a Pillow...........
It's an Afghan.....

Its a Pillowghan and a wonderful pattern from my best friend, SonoranCrafting.
Since my poor son never received a homemade blanket, I thought I owe him one now that I am learning to crochet. This is my first attempt at a blanket. My son was very excited for his pillowghan, enough that he put down the video game to play with it for a bit.

This was made using Patons Canadiana yarn of Rainbow and Bright Royal. 4 skeins of each color and a G size hook. The squares are 12" approx. (11 rounds). The pocket was sc at the top and then stitched on the sides. Oh and it took me the full 2 months I have been learning to crochet to learn how to do granny squares.

Scrubba Dubba Dub

Here is my second soap bag and I will say a much better looking one :) This is for my mother and holds a bar of natural soap made by my most wonderful friend, Ellie. This was made using Sugar'N Cream yarn.

sc bottom and then around. Then work in rounds using dc + 1 ch for round 1. 2sc in the 1ch for round 2. repeat for as tall as you like (this was 6 rows of each).

For the Ruffle: 3dc in each sc around. Chain approx 60 to make a chain, weave into dc and sl st together for tie and hanging handle.

Baby Time :)

Another pair of booties for a friend who is having a boy.

No its not me, you think I am crazy... well ok I am crazy, but not that kind of crazy. Two is enough for me. One of my long time friends from high school is lucky enough to be having a baby girl so I made a couple of little things for her. My friend LOVES purses. So I thought it only necessary that her little girl also have a purse that rattled. This was my own design and I did not follow a pattern. It was pretty simple. I used an Organic Cotton that was baby safe as knowing babies this would be in her mouth. I made the flower first, then the handle and then the rectangle purse with a tapered end. I used beans for the rattle so it has a nice soothing sound as to an annoying jingle bell. Booties are a simple booties pattern then I added a purple ribbon to tie them on and add some flair :) they are soft worsted acrylic and wool combo.

We Match......aint we cute!

Ok I look horrible, but hey no kids around to model and hubby wouldn't do this one. The dog however had no issues of modeling, he never does. This is my attempt at purple camo which I have yet to find in yarn so I made my own pattern. This is a DC scarf and a SC bandana. All of it is Red Heart Yarn, which I find works really well for dog stuff in particular. Its very durable and nice bright colors.
